Nepal Altitude Training Camp
31
December - 10 January 2009
Wrapped along
the Himalaya mountain range, Nepal is a land of awe-inspiring
scenery and some of the finest walking trails you'll ever come
across. The concept behind this 10-day training camp is to
introduce athletes to a stunning country of wonderful
mountains and people, and the helpful effects of altitude training.
Nepal is a country fairly close to Singapore (5
hours flight), and with it's high elevations lends itself to
exercising in an oxygen-deprived environment. On this trip, we'll be
climbing gradually to an altitude of 4100m, reaching Annapurna Base Camp.
|
 |
We won't be doing any running or cycling training on this trip, but
seven full days of trekking.
Despite the preceived
low-intensity nature of walking, don't be fooled - because of
altitude the exercise is quite strenuous and we promise you will
return to civilization pretty fit.
Our
trail runs up through the Annapurna Sanctuary, with dramatic
views of the mountain range (there are several peaks in this
region above 7000m which surround us as we progress up the trail). |
|
 |
We will take, for safety
reasons, a maximum of 16 people on this trip, accompanied by a strong
support team (team leaders, guides, porters). If you are interested
to come and want to know more, write to us at
